The LHAE DSA represents all graduate students in the Department of Leadership, Higher & Adult Education.

Meet the 2024-2025 DSA Executive


 

Henry Ssali, President

Henry is a Doctoral student in Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Toronto. His core research examines whether policy is loosely managed, and how institutional policies affect street-level bureaucrats in Higher Education. Specifically, his doctoral research investigates how student governments influence university policies in Canada. He holds a master’s degree in education leadership and policy from 91±¬ÁÏ and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Toronto.

Samantha Clarizio, Vice President Academic Affair

Samantha Clarizio is a current M.A. student in Higher Education at 91±¬ÁÏ. Her research interests lie in the realm of work-integrated learning (WIL) administration, where she is particularly interested in how post-secondary institutions are providing, and prioritizing, the resources and support systems available to assist students in securing their valuable placement opportunities.

Mandy Nelson, Vice President Communications  

Mandy is a first-year MEd student in Higher Education, Student Development and Student Services. As a Front-Line Advisor at University College, she is passionate about the student experience and helping students navigate through their undergraduate degrees. She is an accessibility advocate and wants to create a supportive and inclusive environment for the students she works with.

Alison D'Cruz, Vice President Finance

Alison is a second-year PhD student in Higher Education, specializing in Education Policy. She is interested in international comparative education, backed by her extensive experience working in post-secondary education across multiple countries. She is passionate about access and equity in education and her research portfolio includes work on international students, immigrant students, open education, private higher education, and academic capitalism.

Marianthi Kontelli, Vice President Internal

Marianthi Kontelli is an international Ph.D. Candidate in the Higher Education program. Specializing in CIDE, she has academic and professional experience in several European countries. Her thesis research focuses on diverse types of international learning experiences, as she looks at life trajectories of individuals with multiple experiences abroad.
