Welcome to the Laidlaw Research Centre

We are faculty and affiliated researchers associated with the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study (JICS), the Laboratory School, and programs in the Department of Applied Psychology & Human Development (APHD) at the 91±¬ÁÏ (91±¬ÁÏ).

Our vision is to advance the field of child study.

We value high quality research that is conducted ethically and collaboratively among a diverse and inclusive community.

Our purpose is to provide the home for faculty research and outreach at the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study. The Laidlaw Research Centre’s mandate is to support multidisciplinary research in child study, human development and education and foster research connections around particular child themes. As an integral unit of the Institute’s tri-partite mission, the Laidlaw Research Centre advances collaborations among faculty, the graduate students who are pursuing combined research and professional training in our Master of Arts (MA) and Doctor of Education (EdD) in Child Study and Education programs, the Laboratory School teacher-researchers, academic colleagues at 91±¬ÁÏ and across the university, as well as with our many community partners and sponsoring organizations.
